Honourable Mention – Alana Institute
21 May 2025 Nascente Viva has been recognised at the 2024–2025 School + Nature Creativity Awards organised by the Alana Institute – a non-profit organisation based in São Paulo that works to promote the rights and development of children and young people.
The award recognises projects that encourage young people to devise solutions for nature in their schools, communities and cities. This is exactly what Nascente Viva stands for.
Finalist – Sustainable Schools Award
16 October 2023 The Guateka Marçal de Souza State Intercultural Indigenous School was a finalist in the Sustainable Schools Award with the Nascente Viva project – an initiative by Santillana, the Organisation of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) and the Santillana Foundation.
The award recognises schools which, in partnership with their communities, develop projects aimed at bringing about significant change in the fields of education and socio-environmental management, as well as raising awareness among younger generations regarding the protection and restoration of the planet.
Green Heart Award
27 September 2021 An Indigenous teacher at Tengatuí School has been awarded the Coração Verde prize for his dedication to the Nascente Viva project. The prize was established in 2002 by Legislative Decree No. 242/02 of the city of Dourados and honours individuals and organisations that stand out for their commitment to environmental protection.

Marco Verde Trophy
5 June 2019 Professor Zefa Lobschenko received the Marco Verde Trophy for her pioneering work on the Nascente Viva project – an award from Dourados City Council, presented by the Institute for the Environment (IMAM) in partnership with the Municipal Council for the Defence of the Environment (Comdam). The trophy honours individuals who have made a significant environmental impact in the municipality.
